20 Families

Cornesti is a small village where most families live without running water and heat.  Every hour in Moldova, six people die, five babies are born and four people emigrate out of the country.  Moldova, a fairly new country, is in danger of extinction because of poverty and a poor economy.

Sinai 30 desires to help struggling families make ends meet in tangible ways.  They’ve adopted 20 needy families in Cornesti to take care of by providing monthly packages of supplies.

The families are chosen by consulting a list of the 100 most underprivileged families in Cornesti and then choosing the 20 who need help the most.  Once those families have been determined, Sinai 30 prepares packages with fruit and vegetables from their farm, clothes donated from various people and organizations and other supplies for each family.  The families come to church each month to pick up their packages.

One of Sinai 30’s goals is to help the people of Cornesti in tangible ways.  Providing food and supplies for 20 families once a month is a simple way to make a big impact on their lives.  Because of the lack of jobs in Cornesti and the entire country of Moldova, many parents emigrate to other countries, leaving their children behind.  Those 20 sets of parents know that they will have their basic needs met once a week, and Sinai 30’s hope is that through their ministry, 20 sets of children will never be in danger of being abandoned by their parents who leave in search of enough income to provide for them.
